Puppy Socialization Safety Policy
In accordance with the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior, the first three months of a puppy’s life is a vital socialization period that shapes a dog’s lifelong behaviors.
Since the standard of care is for puppies to receive socialization before they are fully vaccinated, certain safety precautions are expected for Lotus Dog Training’s puppy services:
Do not visit dog parks or allow your puppy to interact with dogs of unknown vaccination status.
Do not allow your puppy to touch surfaces such as floors or counters in pet stores or other high-traffic dog areas.
Puppies who are coughing, have runny noses, or otherwise appear unwell within 24 hours prior to class will not be admitted.
Surfaces used during our puppy services are disinfected before and after each class and professionally cleaned on a regular basis.
